Eravita, Inc. was formed to build and house the Story of My Life website, partner
with the non-profit Story of My Life Foundation which is entrusted with funds to
maintain and assure continued access to people’s Stories in perpetuity, and to offer
additional services and programs to help people write their Stories, and enrich
them using modern multi-media such as pictures, video, audio files and more.
Eravita’s software application offers everyone a place to interact in a multi-media
setting, leave a legacy (Story) about their background, hopes, dreams, details about
their lives, leave their histories and include the important people in their lives,
interact with each other, the Web, family members, and the world in general. The
goal is to get a Story, either by the individual or an “In Memoriam” about those
deceased, online about every single individual who has lived and Story of My Life
provides the easy solution for doing so.
The Stories are linked together to form family trees, clan histories, the life experiences
of people whether ordinary and famous, rich or poor, living in the same province
or city; or in numerous other ways that could illuminate the lived experience of
the people of this world. Historians, ethnographers, sociologists and other scholars
will find a huge trove of material for recreating lost worlds and understanding
the life of other cultures.
Restrictions to access necessary to protect the privacy of living
participants are also implemented. Users can decide when to release data and to
whom. These privacy settings ensure that Stories are published when the author wants
the Stories to be told and to whom. Users may also assign Guardians to act as trustees
of their Stories after they may be incapable of doing so.
